Belching, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, and similar troubles, unfortunately, are not uncommon. It is understandable because nowadays people’s ration is far from ideal and disease-moving consequences of such a diet are increasingly common. However, there are drugs that can alleviate the patient’s condition, one of them is Motilium. The instruction for use of the medicine emphasizes its high efficiency.
Release form and composition
Motilium, unlike some counterparts, is available in three forms – tablets for oral administration, lozenges and suspensions of homogeneous white texture, which is also intended for ingestion. The active substance in all forms of release of the drug is domperidone. Among the auxiliary substances there are mannitol, gelatin, essence of peppermint, aspartame, etc.
Tablets and suspension are identical in their effects on the body. They help to stop vomiting, relieve nausea, increase the withdrawal from the gastrointestinal tract of its contents. Patients do not experience discomfort from side effects, because the drug is poorly absorbed into the blood and affects other organs. Nevertheless, experts emphasize the need to comply with clear dosage.
Speaking about pills, doctors recommend adults and children (over 12 years and weighing at least 35 kg) not to exceed 80 mg per day, that is, one to two tablets three times a day. Additional admission may be assigned in the case of acute forms of gastrointestinal disorders.
In pediatrics they often use suspension, but it can be accepted by adults as well. In this case, the scheme is as follows – also 10-20 ml 3-4 times a day, the maximum limit is set to 80 ml.
Babies are also prescribed this medication, but in a proportion of 0.25-0.5 mg (or if it is about suspension – 0.25-0.5 ml) per kilogram of body weight. The receive frequency does not change – 3-4 times during the day. The maximum daily dose is 2.4 mg/kg.
When using the suspension you must comply with the rules for its application, which is written on the packaging. A special syringe is attached for the convenience of the dosage attached.
Indications for use
Indications for prescribing are symptoms that are characterized by gastro-esophageal reflux, inflammation of the gastric mucosa and its slow evacuation. They include weight quick satiety, bloating and abdominal pain, bloating, belching, vomiting, nausea, heartburn.

We should also mention that the mechanical obstruction, where you are not allowed to stimulate the activity of the stomach also belongs to the contraindications for prescribing Motilium. The instruction for use indicates that there are not enough data on the use of this drug during pregnancy. Therefore, it is not recommended to take this drug in this period.
