This autumn Christo returns to Colorado to deliver lectures in Denver and Loveland. It will be the first opportunity for Coloradans to hear him address his newest work in progress — The Floating Piers, Project for Lake Iseo, Italy.
The Floating Piers will reimagine northern Italy’s Lake Iseo for 16 days this coming summer. Covered in shimmering yellow fabric, nearly two miles of floating walkways will extend across the water, as the fabric continues along more than a mile of pedestrian streets. The Floating Piers is planned to be exhibited from June 18 to July 3, 2016, weather permitting.
Both lectures will feature images, commentary and Q&A with Christo regarding the status of his three works in progress — Over The River, The Mastaba and The Floating Piers. The many celebrated previous projects that he and Jeanne-Claude have completed around the world will also be highlighted.
